Ruhuna National Park know as Yala National Park in between southern province and uva provinces. This located 160 KM away From capital of Colombo sri lanka. The park is the second largest national park in Sri Lanka and is one of the most visited national parks in the country. It is Among the largest is Lunugamvehera National park. It is in Tissamaharamaya. The entrance to the park is at Palatupana, 12km from Kirinda. The area around Yala has hosted several ancient civilizations. It’s famous for Sri Lankan Elephants and Sri Lankan Leopards.
There are six national parks and three wildlife sanctuaries in the vicinity of Yala. This park is situating in the dry semi-wet climatic region and rain is mainly during the northeast monsoon. Yala park gives the best opportunity to see the wildlife.
